membership of a cooperative society.

sir,

my mother n aunty jointly hold share certificates in their name.They being aged cannot stand for managing committee post.I his son am keening intrested for nomination in the comittee.

But i am told by my society that as i have been not named in the share certificate i cannot compete for the said post.

please reply.

In this case society is technically right.

The society member has got right to contest election.

They are right; only a member may be qualified to contest election of the society. You may not have any locus to stand for managing committee election.
