Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India
can a mother transfer immovable property to her son by way of a registered relinquishment deed to avoid heavy stamp duty as sale and gift deed attract heavy stamp duty ? OR is there any any other type of deed Settlement Deed ??? .please give details.

I do not agree with the opinions given above. The family may rather execute a "DEED OF FAMILY SETTLEMENT" vide which the transfer of ownership rights may be recorded. Based on this deed, you may approach the authorities for change in ownership records. You may be able to avoid stamp duty as per law.
