Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

I purchased one acre of land and it is registered lay out approved by grampanchayath one plot was also sold . This happened in 1984-85. I applied even too MRO in 1987 to addmy name in Revenue records.MRO not given any answer nor he said it is govt., land. I left the property and left my mother land due to transfer of job. I approched again MRO in 2009 and asked assistance fto locate my land. He stated the land was alloted to govt school and made a recommendation RDO stating that to allot another land to me. To what extent I have legal right. According to Revenue it is Govt., Land but i have not received any notice from any dept., so far RDO not given any answer. Can you please suggest what is justifiable.
