SC/ST Atrocity case

What if a SC/ST person files a false ST/SC Atrocity case against a person by taking advantage of the Act in his favour. What rights the accused person have to safe guard himself from such false cases.

Thanks for referring an interesting question of law involved in the matter. I had carefully gone into the facts narrated by you in your reference.

Once a complaint is filed under The S.C. and S.T. (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 accused and prima facie case is made out against him , then accused has to face trial .Accused has all the rights to defend himself and to prove falsity of case by leading evidence during trial.
