Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India
sir, iam a resident of Hyderabad city and intended to advance a loan to my friend subject to deposit of title deeds related to his immovable property towards security. Is the deposit of title deeds amounts to mortgage and compulsorily to be registered? Plz clarify

Mortgage by way of deposit of title deeds is known as "equitable mortgage". It is sufficient to create "collateral security" and no registration may be required.
