Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

Suit for the Property

Unfortunately, my present lawyer has already taken Rs.10,000/- as fees and now he is demanding another Rs.75,000/- telling that the judge has demanded Rs.1,00,000/- for settling the case to our favour and he has reduced the amount to Rs.75,000/- after negotiation. I am against it as i want my case to be settled as per Law.

He has also changed the proof affidavit by removing certain Valid points and now telling that he may withdraw from the case if money is not paid to him before 3rd April 2009 as the case is coming on 3rd April 2009 at Fast Track Court 1 in chennai.

I suspect collusion with opposite party as it has happened earlier also.

Kindly let me know how to manage the situation apart from informing the court about the changes in the proof affivadit.

Re: Suit for the Property

I believe you should consult another lawyer. However, if you have sufficient facts to demonstrate the above you can consider filing a complaint against your lawyer with the State Bar Council.

You may approach the Bar Association officials and bring the matter to their knowledge. You may also want to engage another counsel to pursue your case further.
