I am a gazzeted officer in Central Governent. Can I trade shares or can I sell photographs shot by me, without hampering my office work i.e. after office hours? I will also show the income for income tax purpose in my office.

Hi,
you can do your bussiness but you have to obtain prior permission from your higher authority. If there is no problem then you can start your business in the name of your other family member.Out of your income you can show it before Income Tax Authority.Feel free to contact with me.You are always WELCOME.
THANKS.
Re: Doing other works with job
i think what u want2 do is fairly legal and there should be no problem. You can do both the things but it will be better if you consult some one dealing in service laws. You mentioned wrong subject with your question.
Re: Doing other works with job
You can not carried out shares trading as business but you may make invesment in shares and in that case you have every right show the income of shares in your income tax return.
The same is my opinion in regard of selling photographs shot by you. You have no right to carry out the business or trade of selling photographs may shot by you otherwise you will be in trouble
Re: Doing other works with job
Yes your absolutely entitled to do what ever business you want to, and only exception is that it should not run counter to your existing job. Your work seems to be absolute proper, and i do not see any problem, if you do so
Re: Doing other works with job
No you can not do so. A central Govt. employee or a govt. employee is supposed to be employed for 24 Hours. As per service rules you can not carry any other business during your contiuance in your present service.
Re: Doing other works with job
i dont think that there is any problem with this.
however beware that there is no such clause in ur employment agreement/contract etc.,which may be against ur such venture.
good luck
