Legal Question in Immigration Law in India

Would a green card holder have any impact on his green card/employment if his passport is impounded in India? Wha are the options that he has to get away from the issues related impounding.Are there any legal options? Can the employer continue to allow him to work in US if teh passport is impounded?

Passport is the basic document that entitles one to travel out of his native country or of which one is the citizen. One condition of the green card is holding to lawful valid passport.

To get away from the impounding, it depends what is stated in the show cause notice before impounding and the stand taken by you

the passport may not be impounded physically but the directions may be given to the passport office for impounding the same. once you are in US, it would be difficult for the authorities to impound the same even if they resort to hague convention. however, you may have to hire a lawyer here and challenge the order of impounding the passport in the higher court.
