Legal Question in Immigration Law in India

revoking of passport

hello,

I am an Indian passport holder residing in UK for past 7 yrs, currently on dependent visa as married to a bangladeshi national on hsmp. I have legal residence and have all genuine documents. My passport has been revoked in bangalore due to an investigation relating to my parents. The passport office had requested information and verification of my id along with my siblings. We have provided the details as requested through post. I had assigned a lawyer to present the documents cause I cannot be there in person. All verification has been done and still our passports have been revoked and asked to appeal. I do understand that there maybe investigations going on but how more would I need to prove my originality? My sister's have been there in person and still their passports have been revoked. What is the best way to get this resolved? I want to change my passport to my married name, is that possible even though I have this on going matter? If I submit my passport for change will the retain it? My visa extension is due shortly, how will that be affected? I need a immigration laywer to deal with this in INDIA without me travelling, any advice and recommendations welcomed.

Thanks

Re: revoking of passport

You may consider engaging a lawyer to pursue your remedy. A writ petition may be filed in Delhi high Court if sufficient grounds are available to challenge the orders of Passport authorities under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India.

you may provide more details about the case by e-mail.
