my husband passed away nov 2009 he was working in dubai.I came to know that he had taken an insurance from alico company so now this company wants a succession certificate from the court plese let me know what it procedure and the cost of the certificate

You have not mentioned as to which Religion your Husband and you belong to. Presuming you to be a Hindu by religion, you may approach a local Lawyer and with his assistance file Application before the jurisdictional Court, for issuance of Succession Certificate. While the Court costs would not be much and would depend on the State you belong to, the costs involved for engaging an Advocate has also to be considered. As the matter is quite simple, you may avoid engaging the services of an expensive Senior Lawyer.
