Legal Question in Insurance Law in India

Sir, Recently my sister applied for Claim settlement in a insurance branch office. She the nominee for the policy. The insurance kept her request pending without proceeding further. On complaining this online Branch Office replied that this was pending rival claim letter, which they received after our claim. We know that this was concisously done by the agent whom was the relative of the rival.

Suddendly we noticed that the status was updated as BO Settled claim. We wondered whom they settled and what has happened. But in any case whenever we contacted the office , we had wrong info stating the claim was already sent to our address or it was not sent. The Claim amount is very minimum and less than 10k

We don't know many things about Ombudsman and Consumer Complaint. Can you provide your advice whether we can approach Ombudsman or Consumer Court under these circumstances? And what is the procedure for making a complaint there. Thanks

you can approach both ombuds man and the consumer forum. however the proceedings before the ombusman takes a long time and often they do not inform about the staus of the case. so you should file complaint befor ethe consumer court.
