Legal Question in Intellectual Property in India

copyright protected????????????????

If I buy a CD or DVD of a game or movie or music, and then want to exchange it with some one for some other stuff, is that legal if no money is involved?

So long as it does not involve any "commercial" use of the material in CD/DVD, it may be ok. If you do it regularly or on a large scale, it may not be permissible.
