Legal Question in Intellectual Property in India
IP Sale
We are in the process of buying a Software IP. The IP is not patented. It is valued based on market based benchmark for similar acquisitions. The IP consists of 1. resuable source codes, 2. software components 3. entire software bundle.
We have not yet had even initial talks. SInce this is our first purchase, we would like to be very clear. What are the priliminary checks which we need to do before we initiate talks? What are the questions to be asked during the first talks? also, please let us know the general process for such sales?
