Legal Question in Intellectual Property in India
Power of Attorney on Intellectual Property
I am a qualified engineer and have developed a new technology in electronics.
The technology is pending patent but as you might be aware that it might take a long time.
In the mean time I want the power of attorney to be transferred to my father in case, if for any reason I am not available, and a legal decision is to be taken regarding my intellectual property. Can I do that?

Re: Power of Attorney on Intellectual Property
You can execute a power of attorney in favour of your father enabling him as your attorney to take all decisions that are necessary or proper for the purposes of securing your interests in the patent rights under process of registration. An attorney is merely an agent who acts for and on your behalf in certain circumstances. Therefore, what you would be doing thereby is merely appointing an agent for and on your behalf to attend to matters relating to the registration of your patent rights. Such a power of attorney is revocable at any time. In case you require any further clarifications in this regard please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at+91-040-3328320
