Trade mark registration is not compulsory. It is only obligatory. If you register your mark, you can claim infringement over the person using tyour registered mark. if it is not registered you cannot claim if any body infirnges your mark. Registtration protects from your mark from any infringement.

when a trade mark is registered you get certain protections against any other person using the trade mark.
