one have given in writing(not on bond paper) that one will not leave his job for a specific period of time but due to health reasons he/she is not able to travel and attend his/her duties. Can there be a legal proceeding following such a circumstantially forced discontinuation.

The breach of contract, if any, may visit the deliquent with monetary consequences which may include forefeiture of some salary etc.
