Enquiry on Breach of Offer by Employer! Part1

Sir, I got an offer for the post of Team Manager from a leading Investment Banking's back office operations in Bangalore.I was selected on July 22nd and prior to my selection I never had any 1st round of Intreview or direct contacts with the HR dept.I informed the consultants that my releiving letter would be back dated to July7th and the consultants informed me that the HR is fine with me as long as I had the relieving letter.On Aug 5th I got a compensation structure email where they requested me to join by Aug 18th and I confirmed that I would join by Aug 20th.On Aug 13th the HR told that they would be sending me the offer letter and that time I informed the HR that my releiving letter would be dated July7th.The moment I told this they held back my offer letter & they said they will give me the offer after doing verification.Hence I sent them all my certificates of experience as well as education details.They took nearly 2 months and never got back to me until Sep28th where some operations manager wanted to intreview me for a new department.I attended the Intreview and on Oct 16th I was told my offer is rejected and that my profile does not match their requirements...contd...as part2

It appears that their action may not give you any cause of action and you may not be entitled to any damage etc. better to settle the matter at rest where it is.
