Legal Question in Employment Law in India

One of my friend left company XYZ and joined company ABC. Company ABC was the client of XYZ till October 2011. Now XYZ has issued legal notice stating that empoyment agreement breached. My friend has go relieved from XYZ a month ago. Please suggest how to proceed?

It is need to be seen whether there is any written agreement /bond signed by your friend with the company. If yes whether they have such clause i.e not to join clients/ rivals etc after leaving the company. If there is no written agreement signed, then there is no need to worry. The company has no cause of action.
