hi,i joined in a company 6 months back and signed on 2 years bond ( one has to pay one lakh amount and serve two months notice period as mentioned in bond) ,now i resigned and served two months notice period as mentioned in service agreement.even after completion of my notice period they didn't relieved me,so i came out of the company. now i got a legal notice from them saying to pay one lakh amount in 15 days or else we will take up on action against on you...i read some articles bond is not valid in india,no company cant collect any documents from the employee..and they collected my certificates at the time of joining...so what i have to do now...help me please ..how to solve this issue...

The company does not have any right to retain your certificates nor does it have any right to claim the bond amount from you if you have acted as per their joining terms (terms have to be seen) and served the notice period. You should reply to the legal notice demanding back your certificates and calling them to drop the demand failing which you shall initiate criminal action u/s 406 of Indian Penal Code against them. If they do not return the certificates then report the matter to the police.
