Legal Question in Employment Law in India
Hi,
I was working in an IT company for a month and due to some personal reasons I am not able to continue with the company. Now the company has treated me as an obsconded employee and asking me to pay the compensation of 2 Months gross salary for not serving the notice period as per the appointment letter duly signed by me. So Kindly let me know am I supposed to pay the gross amount, as in the appointment letter it is mentioned like "I need to pay the salary in lieu of the notice period".

You are required to abide by the appointment order, else the company can sue you to recover the notice pay.
