Legal Question in Employment Law in India
Whether Labour Cess is currently payable in Maharashtra under Building and Other construction Workers Welfare Cess Act,1998? We have been advice that Maharashtra state has not started collection of cess.however if we are registered under labour and all deductions and deposits are being done for Labour, esi & Pf then is the cess also applicable. Pl. advice.

Recently I have come across a news that the Govt. would be implementing it strictly and those registered and paying cess would only be granted NOC.by the corporations.
