Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Labour Laws - National / Gazetted Holidays Obligation

What are the legal obligations of any private limited company to provide its employees with the Holidays listed as National or Gazetted holidays by the government. If such a company wants to substitute the holiday for a festival to another day, what are the constraints? For example, instead of giving holiday on 'Dhulendi', give holiday to employees on the previous 'Holi' day.
