Leave on medical ground denied

I am working in a quasi Govt unertaking in Kerala. I have applied to the Managing Director of my company on 06-03-2008 for 52 days earned leave for undergoing medical treatment for my back pain from 10-03-2008 onwards. Since 08 & 09 were holidays for State Govt, I have personally submitted the matter before the Managing Director on 07-03-2008 evening and obtainined his oral permission for availing leave on medical ground, because the file containing my leave application had not reached his table even at that time and due to severe pain I was not in a position to continue in my duties any further without undergoing immediate treatment. The managing Director was transferred on 17/03/2008 and the charge of MD was given to the General Manager of the company.Now,he has informed that my leave has not been sanctioned and I should join immediately. Otherwise it will be treated as unauthorisedly absent. My salary of March is also with held. Since I am undergoing intensive treatment from 10-03-2008, I am not in a position to travel and attend official duties. The detailed Medical certificate submitted by me from the consulting Doctor along with my letter describing the facts were also rejected by the MD I/C. Kindly advise further action
