Notice Period Salary

My appointment letter says a notice period of 2 moths from either side or salary in lieu of the same.

my questio is here salary means gross salary or basic salary in case the employee doesnot serve the full notice period. is there any case laws. Also as per HR policy maximum 36 days leave can be accumulated, can these leave be adjusted against notice period

strictly salary is basic of the salary if in contract the same is not mention and allowances etc. do not ammount to salary.During notice period the working days are counted.If leaves have accumlated then the same can be availed.
