Legal Question in Employment Law in India
I am a Senior Bank Official working as Divisional Manager and monitoring part of the region's business. One of the branch lady official complained to HO that I visited the branch during day time drunk. The BM was out of town on that day. I was on branch visits as advised by my Zonal Head, among other branches I visited till evening, I also went to a Police Station to enquire about a bank's case. Evening I came back to office and my movement register was entered and signed by my Zonal Head. I never take drinks in my entire life and very healthy. I am sure that many have not believed this false allegation against me.
I have sent a complaint to HRD at Head Office requesting to initiate action against this official confirming that I never take drinks. And also that it was an official visit as per Zonal Head's instructions, movement registered signed off by the Zonal Head.
What can the bank do against this lady official? And what more I can do to teach lesson to similar eccentric officials who may play with the careers and image of senior level executives?

Hi,
You must file proper reply in writing to the HO stating the day schedule of your for that particular date and request to initiate enquiry about your day schedule and truthworthyness of that lady. Along with that you gather the copy of the movement register and also the visit entries in the entry registers of the departments you visited that day.
Fater gathering the above documents and receipt acknoledge ment of the letter in reply filed by you, you can proceed against that lady by filing a criminal defamation case before the court.
