Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Termination of Employment from an MNC

Hi,

I was working in a US based MNC in India and recently got terminated for insubordination reasons. One of the insubordination happend an year ago and after that company has identified me as a key resource in the company then after few months I got terminated. The termiantion letter did not talk anything about any payments also. What steps I can take, can I go legaly against this company?

You should not rush for a legal remedy. The litigation is very costly and time consuming. Try to settle the matter peacefully and by tactful negotiation.

You are at the best entitled to receive some monetary compensation and that too depend upon your letter of appointment. It is totally a contractual matter, unless of course you are a 'workman' and employer is an 'industry' within the meanings of Industrial Disputes Act. If ID Act is applicable, you may invoke the powers of Labour Department for concilliation.
