Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Hi,

I was working for a company named Bigtec Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore for almost 6 yrs. I quit the job and was relieved on 31st Oct2011 after all relieving formalities complete with a relieving letter. But my salary for Oct2011 is yet to be paid by my previous employer. I have spoken to the concerned VP and was only assured that my salary shall be paid. I have the salary slip for that month. After my several requests to him failed I started to e-mail him and even to the MD of the company but still they are not responding. Please advise me whether I can take legal action against the company and how much time will it take for such cases.

you may approach the civil court for appropriate relief.
