Legal Question in Employment Law in India
I was working with a manufacturing organization as a contract based employee for 1 year period. I was a fresher when I joined the company and also junior most employee in the department when I joined. I resigned, completed my notice period and left the company after 6 months. I received all my documents and F & F cheque. I was maintaining all the data for calculations and doing some calculations for attendance and salary. I did not receive any proper training from organization and None of my senior monitored and cross checked my work. I tried to complete my work accurately while learning it through experience. If while working under pressure if some clerical or calculative mistakes happened like calculating extra salary or attendance days, forgot to delete some names from the list or just missed out some data unknowingly, and none of my senior in finance and HR and admin department monitored or cross checked my worked and correct me for my unintentional mistakes, then would my mistakes be considered as crime? or would I be asked to pay for my mistakes in future? If somebody joins after me on my position and he keeps committing mistakes without understanding the data I prepared or analyzing my 6 months work he keeps comitting mistakes frequently and none of the seniors cross check or monitor his work, then would I be asked to pay for mistakes committed by the person who joins in my position after I got relieved? will unintentional clerical or calculative mistakes be considered as crime and a person gets Punished? Will person be held responsible for the mistakes which happens by some one else after he or she leaves the company? It has been 1 year since I left that organization, My Email ID, Address was there with organization, But I have not yet received any such query from them? Would I be asked for my mistakes in Future? I was not handling any money directly. I was only preparing data.
