Legal Question in Employment Law in India

I have been working for a private research firm for the last couple of months. The first month's salary was delayed by a month and the second month salary has not been paid so far. I am presently towards the end of the third month that I am working for this company. The HR claims that there has been enough profit and therefore, they can not pay the salary of managers and the rest. What legal steps can I take to alleviate non-payment of salary? Also, is it prudent to tender a resignation now?

you may join some other firm by tendering resignation and then seek recovery of your salary by filing a suit for recovery. there is no point carrying on with a company that cannot pay salary to its employees.
