Legal Question in Employment Law in India
I am working with a proprietorship concern for 3 years. I am also doing my own proprietorship business in an unrelated field. I wish to concentrate on my own proprietorship business. I have not signed any contract with employer. They have simply been paying me salary and issuing Form 16 at end of financial year for taxes deducted at source. There is no document stipulating any notice period. As the employment has been continuous for 3 years, there may be an implied stipulation of serving a resignation letter to end my employment within a certain period. What is this minimum period for which I should issue a notice? Do I have to give reasons why I wish to resign? I do not mind if employer would waive any notice period and relieve me immediately by paying my salary due.

you r not a permanent employee so can leave any time. Maximum one month is enough.
