Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
Amnesty Scheme for Flats purchased before 1984
hello,
My Dad purchased a house in navi mumbai in 1982 for Rs 1Lakh. Our society is registered but not our house. My Dad submitted all the required documents in the month of Nov.
We recieved a letter 2 days back saying that the flat at that time should have been priced for Rs 4.5 Lakh and asked us to pay the stamp duty of Rs 16000 by Feb 13th giving us only 2 days timeline.
Is this amount required to be paid or could it be delayed to another time. What if we pay after Feb 13th. How come these people dont give enough time to citizens considering that people who bought houses before 1985 would be all retired.
Even though we have the Right to Information Act; how come all the citizens are not well informed about the complete process?
Can someone help or rise to this?

You may approach the authorities in reply to this notice seeking for more time for payment; and may also request for making payment in installments.
