Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

building reconstruction - tenant eviction

we have been tenants of a flat for about 30 years and have paid our rent periodically. The society we live in is planning a reconstruction and as a result we fear that our landlord wont give us possession of the house after the building is reconstructed. what are our rights to settle this issue and withhold the reconstruction of the building to protect our rights until an agreement is reached.
