Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
My co-housing society says I cant become a managing committee member as I have only been in the society for 1 year, I need to be in the society for 2 years before they can accept my candidature. Is this right?
I am the owner of the premises and I have been paying my bills regularly.

You should see the bye laws of the society. If the bye laws prescribe a membership for 2 years as the eligibility criterion then you cannot become a managing committee member. If no such prescription is present in the bye laws you can become a managing committee member if there is no prohibition under the Co-operative Societies Act of your State.
