Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
Hello,
We are living in a house under paghdi system for more than 30 years.
The landlord had sent us a notice for house eviction, on which a case was developed.
His claim was that he had sent a letter indicating a rise in rent. We dont recollect receiving any letter like that.
He had stopped taking rent then. We had tried paying rent but to no avail. We have a proof of same in the form of
Register A.D. The case got dismissed because he failed to report in court because of some personal problems.
Now he has re-opened the case. The case is in small cause court mumbai.
Kindly advice what should be our course of action.
