Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

Landlord -Tenant Concerns

Of note, there is no rent deed or rent receipt available. If in this case, my landlord files a case against me for non-payment of rent and asks for eviction, then what will be my fate? Will I have to pay whatever amount landlord will claim? Will I have to vacate the house immediately?

Re: Landlord -Tenant Concerns

You will have to pay the rent that may be determined by the court after perusing evidence that may be produced by the parties. You will get sufficient time to vacate the house; better you settle with the landlord and avoid court proceedings - it is costly and time consuming. if the matter is settled, you should start obtaining a receipt for future or make the payment by cheque.
