Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

I am living with my wife living in a pagadi room at Virar the room is on my mother in law's name. I am Gharjamai & My father & mother in law giving me & my wife (their lonly girl) this room for life time living purpose.But land lord tell us we can not living in this room only my brother in law i.e.my mother in law's son can live in this room. If me & wife living in this room then I must give him rent of Rs.4,000/- p.m. when other tenants paid only Rs.150/- p.m. I wwant to know if any son in law is Gharjamai then what is the law say ? Pl advice

You don't have to pay the rent of Rs. 4,000/- p.m. just because you are only son in law. You tell the landlord you won't pay that amount and let him go to court. You have good defence. So don't worry.
