Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

I have pagdi system house in mumbai. The property is in my father's name now I want to transfer the ownership form father's name to my name. So what is the procedure or law for that? Please answer my question on my mail also i.e. [email protected]

Dear Sir / Madam,

Your father should request the landlord in writing of his no objection to transfer the tenancy and the rent receipt in your name.

'Ownership' cannot be transferred. Only 'tenancy can be transferred. That too, if your father is alive with his and landlord's consent, not otherwise. If your father is not alive, then you can request your landlord to transfer the tenancy, and if he declines; you can go for a RAD suit.
