Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

We have the problem with rent house .
We get 1 bhk on rent but after 1 month found a problematic to live in that we decided to leave that . So now we told broker and owner that we are leaving the room and now broker is saying that we not done with police verification please do it , its important to you . I think police verification is responsibility of owner so why should we need that and there any Law that we in trouble ? and if owner denied to return our deposite then what we have to do ? and is we get some prcent of brokerage return as ur not satifsfied with room ? we have receipt of that too . Please suggest

Yes its owners job to make police verification...

secondly for refund of deposit you can send the landlord legal notice and then after file money suit....

Owner can't refuse deposit on ground of verification as police verification is the responsibility of owner.
