ref to Lift for a Ground + 5 story building

Hello,

We are living in south mumbai since 35 years now. our building is ground + 5 story. We desperately need lift in our building as my father is a heart patient and we reside on the 5th floor. Our building has enough space to build up a lift. Our land lord is not replying to us even after several meetings. What is the way out?

Other Tenants are ready to help as both 4th and 5th floor . But no written communications with the landloard as yet.

You will need to refer to your contract and the local laws. if there is any change in laws which your landlord is not complying, only then you can take suitable action. You should check up with the department which approves building plans of your area to know what are the latest regulations.

Give a detailed application to Land lord and inform him if he is not going ahead you would proceed further and then if Land lord doesnot respond approach to BMC for granting you permission to install lift .

Get acknowledged by landlord some written communications and meet some local lawyer or else jointly all tenants can pressurise the landlord to take action.
