rent act in chandigarh

the landlord died during the pendency of the suit in distt.courts,chandigarh.he gave me rent receipt,but now the new landlady has challanged it.the deceased landlord was nri and i have no knowledgge of his bank account etc. to prove his signatures.how i can prove this rent receipt through rebuttable evidence.also,the suit filed by the landlady is vexatious and frivolous.the rent cotrooler has pursued this rent receipt and passed orders for deposit of rent arreas in court on the basis of provisional assessment.now the case is fixed for evidence.

u can call the documents lying with the landlady. she must be having some documents with his signatures.

there are many other ways to do this.

however when the judge has said you to deposit the rent then i hope u are not waiting for anything else.

deposit money and fight the case.

the previous admitted signature of the land lord is sufficient - no problem with deposit of rent with the court as far as you do not deny being a tenant and the rent last paid/ fixed
