Re: rights of tenant

Since you have not specified the state of location, it not possible to give a specific answer. But in most states, bonfide requirement is a ground available for a londlord to evict a tenant. But the safe guards for the tenant agianst such a ground differs from State to State. The fact that you have not defaulted in payment of rent is not a defence available to you in an eviction proceedings by a landlord for bonfide requirement for his use or for his dependant.

Contact a local lawyer. Every state has different law, and in some state 'bona-fide requirement' is a good ground for eviction of tenant.
