Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
We are staying in rental premises since last 65 years, the Rent receipts is in my grandfathers name (Deceased). My father was the
last son who was staying with my grandfather.
My father has a shop in dehradun main mkt. It was on his name. then my uncle started taking the reciepts on his name without informing my father since 7-8years. now my uncle and father has seperated. since then the landlord has given only one reciept round about 2 years back on my uncles name only he is not even taking the rent since 2 years. thereare 2 such shops. i shop he is asking to vacate. 2nd one he is not ready to take the rent and issue the slips on my fathers name.
We are regulary following up with him but he is making some excuse and is not providing us.
My questions are as follows:
1) how to get the reciept on my fathers name?
2) 3) Based on your experience why do you think is the landlord not giving us rental receipts from last 2 years?
4) Based on yr experience why do you think he is not accepting the rent?
5) What shall we do in order to recover previous 2 years rent receipts?
6) What shall we do know in order to pay the rent?
Please help us.
Thanks

you can start depositing the rent in the court by hiring a lawyer and elaborate the reasons of depositing the same in the court. he may not be giving receipts as he wants to evict you on the basis of non payment of rent.
