tenant & owner dispute

we had a dispute with the other tenant in the builing where we are living and the owner is in support for that other tenant said to vacate the houseby giving excuse as one of his realtive need this portion in which we are staying, few days back he came along with his wife and other unknown three persons without informing to us and forcefully entered our house and shouted loudly by using the abusing words and threatned us if we won't vacate within three days he will drop the lagauge in our house. By the colony people involvement everything has calmed and accepted to give us 2 months time. Now we are feeling guilty that our respect has gone infront of colony people and would like to teach him a lesson for his illegal behaviour. He lives in district by giving this building for rent. We stay at ground floor and other tenant in first floor. We had a dispute for car parking with other tenant within the 6 months of our occupation in house and they even revealed that if you won't listen to us then you have to vacate as how we did for previous tenant by complaining to owner. They want our cars to be parked outside the house which we have protested. They took the illegal connection frm our meter and we are barring their expences.advice pls

Re: tenant & owner dispute

We can providde you with some solution only if we know whether you had executed any Leave and License Agreement with the landlord and if yes what were the terms and conditions regading parking of vehicles, etc. Further, landlords act of entering your premises without your permission can be a criminal offence and further the act of the other tenants to take power from your meter is also a criminal offcen.

I suggest for the act of landlord to enter your premises you can approach a local police station and for theft of electricity you can approach your electricity office.

Re: tenant & owner dispute

You are unnecessarily involving yourself in litigation; it would be better for you to withdraw your car and park somewhere else.

You may seek an injunction from the court so that you are not forcibly evicted. however, it may be better to settle the dispute out of court.

Advice : do not increase your problems yourself. Avoid litigation.

Re: tenant & owner dispute

you may state all these facts in your petition for permanent injunction whereby you can ask the court to restrain the landlord from evicting you illegally and restraining the tenant from interfering in your peaceful possession.
