Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
I am a tenant for a residential house in tamilnadu for past two years, at the time of taking the house I informed the land lord orally that I need the house for at least five to six years (reason, because of my elderly mothers treatment and my children study and my new business assignment) and not to ask to vacate before that. The agreement was entered for 11 months on renewal basis. immediately after one year they have written a letter asking the rent increase of 20 % said after this confirmation they will renew it and send the agreement but they have not send any renewal document and I am paying the revised rent till date through bank only. No rental arrears as on date. At this juncture they have sent a notice for asking me to vacate the house with in two months saying that they want to stay here for their fathers treatment.
Pleas advise what can I do at this movement. what remedy i will get for to stay atleast for next 3-4 yeras.

You may be liable for eviction of the premises in terms of rent laws of your State. Therefore, you should contact a local lawyer to pursue your remedies or enter into a compromise and try reaching an amicable out of court settlement.
