Dear Sir / Madam,

You seem to have purchased the tenancy rights of the room from the previous tenant, without the prior consent and approval of the landlord.

If the landlord has been accepting the rent from you since 1980 till date, you will be deemed to be a legal tenant by the Court, and in all likelihood the case will be ruled in your favour. In such a case, you will not be deemed to be a trespasser.
