Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
I am a tenant in a one storeyed building in Mumbai, with the terrace above me.. The building has developed cracks on the exterior, resulting in water seepage. Last year I informed the landlord, who replied that he will do the repairs. He did not. My ceiling collapsed. Now I want to repair the exterior. Do I need his permission? If so, how do I go about it? What if he says no, how do I proceed? Jude Dsouza

if your ceiling collapsed, then better to construct the same and deduct the amount from your rent else he may approach the court and you will be out of shelter for long.
