Legal Question in Legal Ethics in India

Dear LAwGuru,

I referred to your website and picked up a lawyer who frequently posts on your website. However after over a month of interactions with this senior advocate who claims to be practiciing in US and India and charged a hefty fees to file a case for me,

Hasnt yet sent out notices yet. He is even illegally holding up my original documents and refuses to handover till i pay him more. Please suggest what actions could be initiated against such unethical lawyers - especially imposters who claim otherwise via your portals.

Dear Mr. Arun

the basic purpose of this site is to enlighten a common man about his rights and to provide him with diverse legal opinion. In case you feel that you have been cheated, you may file a complaint to the Bar Council under whose jurisdiction that lawyer is practicing and enrolled. Who is that lawyer and which state of India he belongs to.
