Dear Sir / Madam,

Oxford defines school as an educational institution for pupils upto 19 years of age including college or university level. Any Indian citizen who has acquired minimum qualification - Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent in India, can start a school in India. The laws of the school are framed by the governing body of the school comprising its trustees.

There are no restrictions on an NGO starting a school in India. The laws of operating the school are framed by the owners of the land and the school building premises thereon.
