There is no law. If you are living in a housing society - the Society can frame it rules for pets, and the same can be regulated and enforced by the Society.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I draw your attention to the following :

Byelaw 50(a) : No member, shall do or suffer anything to be done in his flat which may cause nuisance, annoyance or inconvenience to any of the members of the Society, or carry on practices which may be repugnant to the general decency or morals of the members of the Society.

Byelaw 166 makes it obligatory on the Secretary to bring breaches of the bye-laws by the members to their notices under instructions from the Managing Committee.

Byelaw 174 makes it binding on the Secretary to place the complaint application with facts, before the Managing Committee in the coming meeting.

A simple letter addressed to the Hon. Secretary of your Society signed by a few other surrounding members who are also disturbed by the pets nuisance, will get the ball rolling.

You can also mail me at [email protected] for any further on-line advice.

Regards,
