Legal Question in Personal Injury in India
My father beats my mother and sister
I dont know whether I have select the correct Law section.
But here is my Question all the same.
I am a working lady and stay in a different city away from the family. My father beats my mother and sister. My sister is an adult but still a student. Is there some legal action I can take against my father.I have thought of giving a police complaint, but they will at max put him in jail for a day or two and release him. Or he will be released on bail. But after that as revenge he will harass my mother and sister all the more. Is there some way in which he can be kept away from them? As of now for the next 6 months I cant bring my mother and sister to stay with me.
Please help me.
Thanks

Being family matter it is better to discuss in front your relative family elders. Legal action will only widen the gap in the family relationship. If nothing is working out then you may go for leagl solution. contact me at that time

Re: My father beats my mother and sister
1. Where do you live? Is it near Chennai?
2. Why should your father beat your mother and sister? Is there any psychological problems? Is he in need of psychological counselling or treatment? Have you approached the problem like this.
3. As I see it, from your mail you do not have the means to keep them with you. Legally there are two alternatives. One file a police complaint and then file a suit for an injunction restraining your father from harassing your mother and sister and if they are capable of living on their own, not to enter their home. But I think this option would have been exercised if you or they have the means or the need. Legally your mother can also ask for judicial seperation and maintenance( not you) and your sister can also ask for maintenance from your father but these things take time.
4. Alternatively pay a working womens hostel and keep your mother and sister there for the next six months. This will not require huge advances and perhaps your father will also change. This will cost you not much and can be done fairly easily.
5. This appears to be a family problem and must be resolved as such. Also be sure if your mother and sister will co-operate with you. You may think that they should move out and they may think otherwise. Especially your mother may or may not share your views and so be careful before thinking of litigating on family matters.
I wish you the best and May God Bless you with peace of mind.
